Susannah Vila is a consultant on the effective use of new technologies for social impact. She is the global strategist at CitiVox, a technology services company that empowers civil society to build more effective advocacy campaigns and improve communication channels with decision-makers.  Previously, she identified, built and managed relationships with grassroots campaigners from over 30 countries for Movements.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to identifying, connecting and supporting youth activists who use new media to organize for social change.

Vila has analyzed the nexus of new technologies and sociopolitical change for media outlets such as the New York Times, CNN, and FOX News, The Nation magazine, The Huffington Post, PBS MediaShift and Mashable, and frequently consults and trains on the use of online media and mobile phones for public engagement and accountability. 

She holds a MA in Political Science from Columbia University and a BA, also in Political Science, from New York University, where she researched the role of the internet and mobile phones in democratization.
